Sons Spotlight

James Gomez
Commander, Sons of the American Legion Post 132

In Memoriam: Toby De Leon (1960-2025)

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Squadron member, Toby De Leon, transferred to Squadron Everlasting on February 23, 2025, at the age of 64.

Toby was born on June 2, 1960, in Manteca, California. He was the proud son of Army veteran Elisdelio De Leon, who served our country during the Vietnam conflict from 1964 to 1966.

A dedicated 14-year member of Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 132, Toby served with distinction as 2nd Vice Commander, 3rd Vice Commander and most recently on our Executive Board. Known for his kind and easygoing personality, Toby was last with us at our November Sons dinner, when he attended personally to pay his renewal dues for 2025.

His leadership, friendship, and service to our Squadron will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Toby's family and friends during this difficult time.

At our next monthly Sons meeting on March 11, we will be conducting a draping of the charter ceremony to honor his memory.

Other Sons News

The Sons were happy to make a donation of $1,000 towards Post 132's fire fundraiser, helping the families of the Palisades Post and the Pasadena Post. The Post will combine the donations from all families and create one big donation on behalf of all the Post families.

Big thank you to all the Dinner and Breakfast volunteers in February: Kevin P Anderson, Tommy Dees, Pierre Duco, Tom Duprey, Justin Fawver, Mark Fawver, Terry Hildenbrand, Mike Holmes, David Laguna, John Shore and Kevin Wagner

And also, thank you to those who came to volunteer for the once-per-quarter Sons Post Cleanup Day. Your efforts were appreciated Mike Holmes, Ben Farner and Jonathan Stone
